Thoughtful Enrollment

We believe that choosing the right learning environment matters. Our process is designed to get to know your child as a learner and as a person.

We are building a community—not just filling seats.

Our process begins with a brief interest form and conversation to ensure this is the right fit for your child and family.

Our Enrollment Process

Our process is designed to thoughtfully guide families through each step while ensuring the right fit for both students and the school community.

  • Families begin by completing the “Start the Conversation” inquiry form.

This initial form allows us to learn more about your child, your family’s educational goals, and your interest in Maya Angelou School of the Arts.

  • After reviewing your inquiry, families will receive follow-up communication regarding next steps in the enrollment process, including an invitation to schedule a virtual Family Conversation.

This conversation provides an opportunity for families to learn more about the MASA learning model, ask questions, and explore whether the school is the right fit for their child’s needs, goals, and learning style.

  • Families will participate in a 25–30 minute virtual conversation designed to:

    • Learn more about the child

    • Discuss the family’s goals and expectations

    • Share more about the MASA learning model

    • Explore overall alignment and support needs

This conversation is relationship-centered and designed to ensure students are placed in environments where they can thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and creatively.

  • Families who move forward in the process will receive:

    • The official enrollment application

    • A non-refundable application fee invoice

    • Additional enrollment instructions and timelines

Applications are reviewed thoughtfully to ensure alignment with the school’s mission, values, and learning model.

  • Students will participate in a virtual meet-and-greet experience to help build connection and introduce them to the MASA community and learning environment.

  • Families will receive an enrollment decision along with next steps regarding:

    • Enrollment agreements

    • Tuition and payment plans

    • Student onboarding

    • Technology expectations

    • Orientation information

Accepted families will complete enrollment paperwork and submit the enrollment deposit to secure placement
