A Different Kind of Learning Experience.

We create learning experiences that support students academically, emotionally, and creatively—so they can grow with confidence and purpose.

How We Support The Whole Child

At Maya Angelou School of the Arts, we believe students thrive when they are supported academically, emotionally, socially, and creatively. Our approach is designed to help students build confidence, strengthen their voice, and grow through meaningful learning experiences rooted in relationships, leadership, and creativity.

Our Approach

Creative Expression

The arts are integrated into learning to deepen engagement and self-expression.

Emotional Intelligence

Students learn to understand emotions, build healthy relationships, and develop confidence.

Academic Growth

Instruction is personalized and designed to support continuous growth.

  • Students participate in live instruction Monday through Wednesday, where they receive direct support, engage in discussion, and build foundational skills in a connected learning environment.

    Live Small-Group Instruction

  • Outside of live sessions, students work on independent assignments, creative projects, and meaningful learning experiences that encourage critical thinking and ownership of learning.

    Independent & Project-Based Learning

  • This is not a sit-on-a-screen-all-day model. Students engage in learning experiences that build creativity, confidence, independence, and real-world thinking.

    Hands-On Meaningful Learning

  • Our schedule is intentionally balanced to support students academically, emotionally, socially, and creatively while giving them space to grow at their own pace.
